NFL Betting – Contenders Continue To Work Into Game Shape With Preseason Week Two

While several NFL betting lines teams around the league use the preseason schedule to determine which pieces fit where in their lineups, another group of contenders plays the exhibition schedule to give their starters the reps that they need to be ready for the season. There is no doubt who will get the calls for the following four teams, as they look to continue to progress towards the regular season with week two of the exhibitions schedule.

New England Patriots @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Thursday, 7:30 PM ET

The Patriots provided the largest margin of defeat in week one of the preseason with a 47-12 blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at home, and will now take their show on the road to face a Tampa Bay team that also won big, a 25-0 shutout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. The biggest difference between those teams from week one is that New England didn’t start the majority of its star players, with Tom Brady, Chad Ocho Cinco, and Albert Haynesworth all watching the action from the sidelines. All three are expected to see sports betting time against the Buccaneers, and it could get ugly in a hurry.

NFL Betting Pick: New England Patriots - 3

Philadelphia Eagles @ Pittsburgh Steelers

Thursday, 8:00 PM ET

In what could be a preview of this year’s Super Bowl, the Pennsylvania rivals will hook up at Heinz Field in a battle of top contenders. Michael Vick and the Eagles looked very good in their opening win over the Baltimore Ravens, but it won’t get any easier against another AFC North contender. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin was not happy with his team’s effort against the Washington Redskins in a 16-7 loss, and will demand more urgency in week two.
