AFC Predictions Most people are picking the New England Patriots and why not? This is a team that won 11 games without Tom Brady, but now added Joey Galloway and Fred Taylor. Also, Brady is back and so is a healthy Laurence Maroney. The biggest difference could be on defense, where the Patriots are now younger and faster.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will compete and so will the San Diego Chargers, but no team is more sound than the Patriots. NFC Predictions The NFC is a wide open race. Do you stick with the favorites like the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings? Or do you go with a sleeper, like the Green Bay Packers or the New Orleans Saints. I’ll go with the latter. The Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers are two teams that are flying under the radar right now but both are capable of winning the conference. The Cowboys don’t have the pressure from last year while the Packers are a young team that is going to get stronger week-by-week. When they meet in the Championship game, look for the team with home field advantage to get the job done. I’ll stick with the Dallas Cowboys to get the job done. Super Bowl There is nothing that the Patriots won’t see in the NFC that they haven’t already seen in the AFC. Pittsburgh and San Diego are tougher than any AFC team and if the Pats can get by them, they’ll win it all. Look for the Patriots to finish the job where they fell short two years ago. |
