Picks for the weekend

NFL betting season is ready to kick into high gear as everyone is jockeying for playoff position. Here are three quick picks for the weekend.

Rams vs Bears odds - Sunday, 1:00 P

The Rams are 9-point underdogs, but I'm tentative to lay that many points with Chicago. Jay Cutler has been awful, the line has been just as bad, Matt Forte is in the midst of the sophomore slump, there are no receivers, and the defense was gouged in Minnesota last week.

They looked like a team that had given up. The Rams have been keeping it close lately, and even though they're not talented, they play hard until the end, which is why you should take the Rams against the spread.

Texans vs Jaguars odds - Sunday, 1:00 PM ET

This is a pick'em game between these AFC South foes, and the Jaguars won 31-24 in Houston in Week 3. But their secondary is banged up, which opens the door for Matt Schuab and Andre Johnson. The Texans have been beating themselves lately, especially twice in three weeks against Indianapolis, and they may play like a team with nothing to lose, which they are. Take the Texans with your NFL betting pick.

Vikings vs Cardinals odds - Sunday, 8:20 PM ET

If the undefeated Colts and Saints are at the top of the league, Minnesota is right behind them. Brett Favre is garnering steam as an MVP candidate, and their defense comes at you for 60 minutes, powered by a fierce front four. The Cardinals lost in stunning fashion to Tennessee, but they may have Kurt Warner back as he practiced on Wednesday. Still, with that defense, You have to take the Vikings, straight up (there is no NFL betting line for this game until Warner's status is decided).
