Buffalo Bills 2010 Preview

In the betting world, the Buffalo Bills have not held a lot of clout since the 1990's. It has been over 11 years since the Bills last made the playoffs, and the NFL betting picks experts do not give the Bills much chance of making the playoffs this season. Right now, the NFL Vegas picks experts have the Bills odds at winning the Super Bowl at 100-1. The Bills have not done much in the off-season to change those odds.

When the Bills went into the 2010 NFL draft, it was well-known that they needed a quarterback. The current roster features Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm; and none of them are proven NFL starters. Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy, two potential franchise quarterbacks, were available when the Bills made their first pick. The Bills, instead, chose running back C.J. Spiller.

On the surface, the NFL picks crowd could write off Spiller as another bad Bills draft pick. However, the kid can play. The only question is whether or not the Bills will do the right thing and put Spiller in the backfield with Fred Jackson, or whether they will make another bad decision and push aside Jackson for a Marshawn Lynch/C.J. Spiller backfield.

The Bills also need a stud pass rusher and not only did the team not take care of that problem in the draft or free agency, the problem may get worse with the retirement of current pass rushing star Aaron Schobel. If Schobel retires, the Bills pass rush and entire defense will be in pretty big trouble.

Without a quarterback, a second wide receiver to compliment Lee Evans and a pass rusher to slow down the other team's offense; the Bills have no teeth this season. The basement of the AFC East awaits yet again for a once proud organization.
