NFL Betting – Jones-Drew Defends Garrard As Jaguars Quarterback

When the Jacksonville Jaguars selected quarterback Blaine Gabbert with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, it signaled what many considered to be a changing of the guard under center for at the AFC South team. That certainly isn’t the way that Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew sees the situation, and he has wasted little time making his thoughts known. Jones-Drew said after the draft that quarterback David Garrard is “our guy and he’s always going to be our guy”, expressing his desire to see the Jaguars continue to operate with the veteran under center. On Monday night the diminutive back reiterated those sentiments, saying that he felt that the team didn’t need to take a quarterback in the first round, and that the team’s top pick would have been better spent somewhere else this MLB betting season.

Jones-Drew mentioned teams like the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers as rosters that have been together and in the same system for a decade or close to it, and reasoned that their success was dependent on it. He didn’t agree with the notion that Gabbert was the answer to the team’s problems, and the truth is that if they didn’t trade up to get the quarterback prospect they would have been able to add to their offense with a pick in the first and second rounds, perhaps adding a couple of top receivers, another tight end, or some sports betting help on the line.
