Matt Hasselbeck - QB The speculation on what would happen with Matt Hasselbeck started when the Seattle Seahawks lost to the Chicago Bears in the divisional round of the playoffs last year. Many thought that the veteran signal-caller would wind up in Arizona, where a quarterback is desperately needed. But it has been announced that on Friday at 6:00 PM EST, Matt Hasselbeck will become a Tennessee Titan. Hasselbeck is expected to get the starting job with 2011 draft pick Jake Locker being the backup. That leaves the unstable Vince Young as the odd man out, and Young is expected to be released as soon as Hasselbeck is signed. Locker did not help the relationship with the new Tennessee starting quarterback when he Tweeted that he welcomes Hasselbeck to Tennessee, but Locker still expects to be the starter. Donovan McNabb - QB The Minnesota Vikings just cannot stay away from veteran quarterbacks as the Vikings traded a draft pick in next year's draft to Washington for quarterback Donovan McNabb. The McNabb trade puts the future of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb up in the air as Kolb was expected to be traded to Minnesota prior to Friday. Kolb could, however, wind up in Arizona. Vincent Jackson - WR It looks like Vincent Jackson and the San Diego Chargers have decided to play nice and Jackson will sign at least a one-year deal to play for San Diego in 2011. There has been no indication of a long-term deal and neither side has indicated how much money Jackson will get for the 2011 season. Todd Heap - TE Todd Heap was a critical part of the Baltimore Raven's offense for many years. But on Tuesday, the Ravens bid farewell to Heap and cut him. It is not known which teams have publicly expressed an interest in Heap, but teams such as the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins who need a good, veteran tight end are expected to be in the mix. |
