One of the most popular ways to bet on the NFL over the past couple of years is proposition betting, and it is the most common once the postseason gets underway. An NFL proposition bet is a specific bet on one or more aspects of the game, and a list of these “prop” bets is usually reserved for big games such as the primetime slots, and of course, for the playoffs. While they aren’t as simple to keep track of as straight-up bets or parlays, the prop bet can be fun because it takes the game to another level, and allows the players to truly show off their knowledge of the sport.
Prop bets could include anything from the number of sacks that the two teams will combine for in a game, to the number of passing yards that each quarterback will throw for. With the Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football becoming so popular in Las Vegas and around the world, it is the job of the pay head bookies to make sure that there are as many wagering options as possible for the players to get in on the action for those games. The best part about the prop bets is that there are almost always excellent lines listed for either option in a given wager. For example, if the over/under for the total number of sacks in a game is listed at 4.5, then both the over and under could have the standard minus-110 as the line, which makes it more fun to make sports betting predictions. |
